Privacy policy
Last updated: November 2026. We keep your information to make your song and look after your order, and nothing more.
Who we are
Your Little Song (“we”, “us”) runs yourlittlesong.com and is responsible for your personal information under UK data protection law. You can reach us about anything in this policy at hello@yourlittlesong.com.
What we collect
- Your details: your name and email address.
- Your song details: the words and memories you type in, including the names of the people in your song, and your style choices.
- Your photos: any photos you upload for a memory film.
- Your order: what you bought, when, and any messages you send us. Lemon Squeezy sends us order details, but we never see your full card number.
- Technical details: information your device sends when you visit, such as your IP address and browser type, which our hosting provider records to keep the site running and secure.
Information about other people
Songs are often about someone else, and may include details about their life. Please only share what you are comfortable sharing and what they would be happy for you to share. Avoid sensitive details, such as health information, unless they matter to the song. We use these details only to make the song you asked for.
How we use it, and why we are allowed to
- To make and deliver your song, take your order and help you: this is needed to carry out our contract with you.
- To keep the site secure, prevent misuse and improve the service: this is in our legitimate interests.
- To keep tax and accounting records: this is a legal obligation.
- To send you marketing emails: only if you agree, and you can unsubscribe at any time.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use your words, photos or songs to train our own AI models.
Who helps us
We share only what each provider needs to do its job. They currently include:
- Lemon Squeezy: our merchant of record, which takes your payment, handles tax and refunds, and acts under its own privacy policy.
- Anthropic: helps write your lyrics from the details you give us.
- fal and ElevenLabs: generate the music and singing voice.
- Cloudflare: hosts the site and stores your song.
- Brevo: sends our emails.
We may also share information if the law requires it, or with a new owner if the business is ever sold.
Where your information goes
Some of these providers are based in, or process information in, the United States and other countries outside the UK. Where that happens, we rely on the legal safeguards UK law provides, such as an adequacy decision or standard contract terms.
How long we keep it
- Songs you buy and their gift pages: until you ask us to delete them, so that you do not lose them.
- Previews you do not buy, and uploaded photos: up to 12 months.
- Order and tax records: 6 years, as the law requires.
- Support messages: up to 2 years.
Cookies
We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. We use only what is needed for the site to work and stay secure. Lemon Squeezy may set its own cookies at checkout.
Gift pages
A gift page is private and is not listed anywhere. Anyone with the link can open it, so share it with care. Ask us at any time and we will take it down.
Your rights
You can ask to see, correct, delete or receive a copy of your information, or object to or limit how we use it. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. Email hello@yourlittlesong.com and we will reply within a month.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first. You also have the right to complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Children
Our service is for adults, and we do not knowingly collect information directly from anyone under 18. A song can be about a child, but it must be ordered by an adult, such as a parent or guardian.
Keeping it safe
We use secure connections and limit who can see your information. No system is perfectly secure, but if something goes wrong that puts you at risk, we will tell you.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time, and the date at the top will show when. If a change is significant, we will let you know.
